Final Report

The Commission was tasked to consider and report on a number of matters regarding costs and efficiency of local government, and to make recommendations to the South Australian Government and provide advice to councils.

In doing this task the Commission has taken into consideration recent reforms in South Australia and other jurisdictions to policy, governance and management practices in the local government sector and their potential to afford cost savings and improve council efficiency.

The Commission has completed its task and thanks the many contributions from councils, the Local Government Association and other stakeholders.

Timeline

The final report was delivered to the Premier on Friday, 22 November 2019 and published on the SAPC website on 5 February 2020.
