Initial Consultation

The issues paper supports interested parties and stakeholders to participate in the inquiry into reform of South Australia’s regulatory framework. It highlights the key issues as understood by the Commission, and seeks further information to enhance the Commission’s understanding of the issues.

The Commission seeks evidence and experience, as well as views on the matters identified in the issues paper. It is also interested to learn of other matters relevant to the terms of reference.

The Commission will publish every submission it receives on its website unless it is determined by the Commission as being confidential, offensive, potentially defamatory, beyond the scope of the inquiry's terms of reference, or an abuse of process. The Commission’s approach to handling confidential material is addressed on our website. This approach supports the Commission’s commitment to transparency, and enables other parties interested in the inquiry to consider contributors' views unless there is a valid reason why those views should not be shared beyond the Commission.

Inquiry Business Survey

As a South Australian business owner and/or operator, the Commission wants to hear your views and experiences to gain the evidence and information it needs for meaningful recommendations. Regulations need to reflect modern business practices, so the Commission wants to identify and remove regulatory barriers and unnecessary red tape and encourage innovation and investment, without compromising public safety.

The Business Survey will help the Commission hear from a wide cross section of businesses in SA. The survey will be live from Tuesday 13 July 2021 until Sunday 8 August 2021.

Complete the survey here.

Please note that your response will remain anonymous, unless you want to provide contact details for further information or want to be kept informed about the inquiry progress.

The survey results will be used for the final report in October 2021 and publicly released before the end of January 2022.

Hear more about the survey by listening to the ‘Our State’ podcast here.

Next steps

Following consideration of initial submissions, the Commission will release a draft report in July detailing evidence, key findings and draft recommendations. Further consultation to test these findings and to gather additional evidence will follow the draft report’s publication.
