Draft Report

In March 2021, the Commission was tasked to evaluate the regulation and practice governing referrals processes of select state agencies in the areas of environmental significance, native vegetation and transport routes and corridors. The Commission also looked into the effect of referral body input on major project assessment processes.

Next steps

The draft report was published on 2 July 2021 and is intended to further engage stakeholders and interested parties on the Commission’s work, including its analyses, initial conclusions, and draft recommendations. Some information requests are also included in the draft report, responses to which will assist the Commission in its understanding.

The Commission acknowledges the contributions from applicants and their agents, the referral bodies, Planning and Land Use Services (PLUS), industry and professional associations and other stakeholders. The Commission will hold further consultations as necessary.
