The Commission’s review into the development referrals processes has concluded with the final report delivered to the Premier on 11 October 2021. The report will be published on the SAPC website no later than 10 January 2022.

The Commission was tasked to evaluate the regulation and practice governing referrals processes of select referral bodies with mandates in the areas of environmental significance, native vegetation and transport routes and corridors. The Commission considered the effect of referral bodies’ input on major project assessment processes and associated administrative improvements to enhance the new planning system.

The Commission thanks the referral bodies, Planning and Land Use Services, planning professionals, industry and professional associations, and other stakeholders for supporting the Commission’s work through their timely sharing of important information and data, and candid interactions throughout the review process.
