The South Australian Productivity Commission (the Commission) has been established to make recommendations to government to facilitate productivity growth, unlock new economic opportunities, support job creation and remove existing regulatory barriers.

Whilst the primary function of the Commission is to undertake inquiries as mandated by Premier and Cabinet Circular 046 – the South Australian Productivity Commission, from time-to-time the Commission also undertakes reviews in relation to matters referred to it by the responsible Minister, the Premier. The process for undertaking a review is generally the same as an inquiry. Reviews involve consultation with stakeholders, and will require the Commission to produce reports that include recommendations.

Reviews will generally have a shorter duration than an inquiry as they will have a confined or narrower focus.
