Final Report

The Commission was tasked to undertake an inquiry into Research and Development in South Australia.

The inquiry has considered trends in public and private expenditure on Research and Development in South Australia as well how Research and Development contributes to long term productivity gains and economic growth. It has made recommendations on actions to raise the contribution of Research and Development to the state’s long-term productivity and economic growth rates.

The Commission acknowledges the contributions from state government agencies, universities, research institutes, businesses and peak bodies for their contributions to the final report.

Timeline

The final report was delivered to the Premier on 18 January 2021 and was published on the Commission website on 19 April 2021.
