The Commission’s review into the extractives industry supply chain has concluded with the final report being delivered to the Premier on Friday, 28 August 2020. The report will be published on the SAPC website on 26 November 2020.

The Commission was tasked to evaluate and identify barriers and reform opportunities in the approvals process for quarries, in the use of their outputs in construction and elsewhere, and rehabilitation and post-closure land use. Balancing competing interests and achieving improvements without compromising other important government objectives was a feature of the review.

The Commission thanks the many contributions from quarry operators, regulators, industry and professional associations, supply chain businesses and consultants, and other stakeholders.
