The SA Productivity Commission received the terms of reference from the South Australian government on 9 March 2021.

The Commission is conducting a review into regulation and practice governing referrals processes that form an integral part of the state’s development approval system. The review will focus on the referral activities of select state referral agencies in the areas of environmental significance, native vegetation and transport routes and corridors. It will examine how the referrals processes can be improved to lift the competitiveness of South Australia as an investment destination.

Stakeholders’ feedback will be sought during the review process and will be essential to developing the Commission’s recommendations.
